Founders Statement

William Evans | CEO & Founder

William Evans emerged from federal prison after serving nearly 30 years behind bars with a renewed purpose: to prevent young people from having to learn life’s hardest lessons through incarceration.

While incarcerated, Mr. Evans committed himself to self-rehabilitation, utilizing cognitive thinking tools, accountability practices, and personal discipline to transform his mindset and life direction.

Through this experience, he learned a powerful truth:

Real change begins within — only you can make the decision to change for the better.

Mr. Evans founded Recapturing Our Youth on a simple but powerful question:

“Why should our youth have to go to prison to become rehabilitated, when we can apply thesesame tools while they are free?”

Today, Recapturing Our Youth applies these same tools before youth enter the criminal justice system. To help them become positive role models and productive citizen
